Russian hackers involved in the cyber attack on the website of the state news Agency in Qatar. This was stated by the foreign Minister of the Emirate of Muhammad bin Abdurrahman al-Thani, in an interview with CBS News.

“According to information we have, this is not a Russian hacker”, — quotes the channel of the foreign Minister of Qatar. The diplomat added that the FBI has completed the investigation into the cyber attacks.

According to the Minister, the break-in involved some countries in the Middle East. However, what the state in question, al Thani did not specify.

On 6 June, the TV channel CNN, citing unnamed sources, reported that U.S. intelligence agencies suspected Russian hackers hacking into the website of the state news Agency of Qatar. In the result of a cyber attack on the site was a fake news report that triggered the crisis in the relations of the Emirate with the neighbouring countries.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov called the untrue information about the availability of the “Russian trace” in the hacking of the servers of the news Agency.

In early June, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE announced the rupture of diplomatic relations with Qatar. They accused Doha of supporting terrorist organisations, including the banned in Russia “Islamic state” and al-Qaeda, and destabilizing the political situation in these Arab States. On the same day their decision was joined by Yemen, Libya, the Maldives and Mauritius. Doha all charges in his address denies.
