The attorney General of Venezuela said on state terrorism in the country

MOSCOW, June 28. /TASS/. The attorney General of Venezuela, Luis Ortega Diaz on Wednesday accused the government of state terrorism and ignoring the rights of citizens.

“I think that in our country the state terrorism in which were lost the right to demonstrations, which are brutally suppressed the protests, in which civilians prosecuted by military courts, in which searches are carried out without permission,” she said at a press conference, broadcasted via the app Periscope.

Diaz also called illegal the decision of the Supreme court, resolved to confer powers of prosecution office of the Commissioner for human rights. “They give you to conduct investigations of violations of human rights to those who might violate them,” said she. In her opinion, the actions of the court is directed to “discontinue the prosecution”.

From the beginning of April in Venezuela are anti-government protests, the reason for which was the Supreme court decision expanding the authority of the President and limiting the functions of Parliament. During this time, according to the Prosecutor General, killing at least 75 people, injured more than 1.4 thousand, including about 300 law enforcement officers and National guard. More than 3.2 thousand people were arrested.
