MOSCOW, June 28. /TASS/. Moscow is preparing measures in response to the arrest of its diplomatic property in the U.S. in late 2016. This was stated by the official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on 28 June the TV channel “Russia 1”.
“Response prepared. This issue will be addressed not only in the Ministry of foreign Affairs,” she said.
Zakharova added that Russia’s response “will have a very solid base of development”. “They know it, they repeatedly told” she said.
At the end of December 2016 the former US administration led by President Barack Obama imposed new sanctions against Russia, declaring persona non grata 35 employees of the Embassy in Washington and Consulate General in San Francisco, with two Russian diplomatic give – in the States of new York and Maryland. Access to the entire Russian staff to these two complexes was closed on December 30. Washington tied the sanctions to hacker attacks on American political institutions, which are leaving the U.S. government accused Russia.
For its part Moscow has not recognized the legality of decisions of a bygone American administration towards the diplomatic villas.
