US Ambassador to the UN named leader of North Korea “paranoid”
WASHINGTON, 28 Jun — RIA Novosti. Change of course of the DPRK to develop nuclear weapons is possible only through the maximum pressure, as the country is ruled by a paranoid, said the U.S. permanent representative to the UN, Nikki Haley.
On Wednesday, Haley spoke at a hearing of the Committee on foreign Affairs, house of representatives, U.S. Congress. On the question of impact of increased US presence in the development of the DPRK’s nuclear program, Haley said, “the more pressure we will provide to the DPRK, the better.”
“We are talking about the leader-paranoid (Kim Jong Yne — ed.) who thinks that we are trying to kill him or to change the regime. He keeps his people in the dark, forcing them to listen to only what he wants. And we need to remember that he is working on a nuclear program”, — said the permanent representative of the United States.
The DPRK, despite the sanctions of the UN security Council continues to conduct missile tests under the pretext of protecting against threats from the United States. Ballistic missiles the DPRK often fall in the exclusive economic zone of Japan only a few hundred kilometers from the coast. The last launch was conducted on June 9, when North Korea tested several anti-ship cruise missiles. The previous test took place on 29 may, was held the launch of a ballistic missile with a homing system to intercept enemy missiles.
The current leader of the DPRK Kim Jong-UN has consistently emphasized that the country will defend the independence and status of a nuclear state, as the increase in nuclear capacity is a necessary measure to protect it from the United States.
