Tillerson called on Gulf countries and Qatar to continue negotiations

WASHINGTON, may 25 — RIA Novosti, Alexei Bogdanovsky. The United States believes that part of the requirements of the Arab countries to Qatar can become the basis for dialogue and conflict resolution, said on Sunday U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson.

“Qatar began to carefully consider and weigh a number of requirements presented by Bahrain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Although some elements of Qatar will be very difficult to implement, there are significant areas, which provide the basis for continuing dialogue leading to the resolution (of the conflict — ed.)”, — said in a written statement Tillerson.

“Productive next step would be for all countries to get together and continue this conversation. We believe that our allies and partners is stronger when working together to achieve one goal. We all agree that the goal is to stop terrorism and to fight extremism. Each country can contribute its part to these efforts,” added Tillerson.

“The U.S. will continue to remain in close contact with all parties and will continue to support the mediation efforts of the Emir of Kuwait,” concluded the Secretary of state.

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE and Bahrain through the mediation of Kuwait handed over to the authorities of Qatar a list of its requirements to the termination of diplomatic isolation faced by the Emirate. List details requirements revealed a number of media, including the American associated Press news Agency.

Four Arab countries require Qatar to sever diplomatic relations with Iran, close the military base of Turkey on its territory and the satellite channel “al Jazeera”. To perform all of the requirements of Doha is given ten days. Qatar has called the demands unrealistic and called for a review of them.
