The media learned who can take the place of the leader of the IG*

MOSCOW, 24 Jun — RIA Novosti. Experts expect that the place of the leader of the terrorist group “Islamic state”* Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is one of two of his closest henchmen, both of them former officers of the Iraqi army of Saddam Hussein, reports Reuters.

Russian Deputy foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov earlier told RIA Novosti that with high probability we can say that al-Baghdadi had been eliminated as a result of the impact of the Russian space forces at the command of militants in the southern suburb of the Syrian city of raqqa.

The head of the defense Committee of the Russian Federation Council Viktor Ozerov said that the success of the attack on Raqqa is indirect evidence that al-Baghdadi destroyed, which led to the decrease in the level of leadership of a terrorist organization and resistance fighters.

According to the Agency, as possible contenders for the al-Baghdadi experts distinguish two former Iraqi military officers: it is Iyad al-Obaidi (Iyad al-Obaidi) and Ayad al-Jumaili (Ayad al-Jumaili).

Both are key aides to the leader of the IG* in 2016, when the air strikes had killed his previous advisors Abu Ali al-Anbari and Abu Omar al-Shishani, says the Agency. Reportedly, al-Obeidi, who is now about 50 years old, is Minister of war terrorists and al-Jumaili, head of the security service of insurgents. Thus, in April it was reported on the elimination of Jumaili, but the information has not been confirmed.

“Jumaili recognizes the supremacy of Obeidi, however, no clear successor, and depending on conditions it could be any of them”, — quotes Agency the words of the Advisor to several middle East governments on issues associated with ISIS, Hisham al-Hashimi.

The appointment of the new leader of the group will require the approval of the deliberative authority of the IG, composed of eight members, said the Agency. Six of them came from Iraq, two from Jordan and Saudi Arabia, the report said.
