Der Spiegel found out about a long-term surveillance of German intelligence for the White house

Moscow. June 22. INTERFAX.RU — the Federal intelligence service of Germany (BND) for many years, followed by military and government authorities of the USA, particularly the White house, said on Thursday the German magazine Der Spiegel, citing internal documents of the BND.

“From 1998 to 2006, BND implemented for surveillance 4 million search queries: the so-called “selectors”, — said the publication.

The magazine said that this concept means collecting information about telephone numbers, faxes and e-mail addresses. Thus, the officers had the opportunity to monitor the work of the White house, state Department and U.S. Treasury Department.

According to Der Spiegel, German intelligence has also paid close attention to the surveillance of space Agency NASA, aerospace firm Lockheed Martin, Human Rights Watch and a number of other institutions in the United States.

In addition, Germany in this period followed more than 100 representatives of foreign States and organizations in the United States, in particular for the International monetary Fund and the League of Arab States.
