The head of “Rosneft” Igor Sechin told the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin with the new field opened up in the Laptev sea.
Sechin has reminded that Putin himself gave the nod to the Khatanga oil study area located in the Eastern Arctic.
The head of “Rosneft” showed the President on a core sample recovered from the seabed. According to him, the species was found for the high content of hydrocarbon. In addition, geologists are confident in the prospects of the open fields, Sechin assured.
Earlier “Rosneft” has told about the discovery of deposits on the Arctic shelf. The Ministry did not rule out that it will be the largest reserves in this part of the Arctic.
