Attack coalition headed by the USA on Syrian bomber does not fit into the line for the West in fighting terrorism. It is a provocation aimed against the Syrian government, the head of the Duma Committee on international Affairs Leonid Slutsky. This opinion he expressed in “the feed.ru” on Monday, June 19.
“And this is not the first (provocations against the official Damascus ― approx. “Of the tape. ru”). More precisely, for the fourth, starting with a provocation in Idlib and subsequent air strike on the base Shirt ― when the Americans and their allies under various pretexts attacking the Pro-government forces, who are fighting with the terrorists,” ― said Slutsky.
In his opinion, this testifies to the fact that the stated US objectives to combat international terrorism “as a cover for interference in the Affairs of sovereign States” whose purpose “is the overthrow of unwanted regime led by Bashar al-Assad at any cost.”
Earlier Monday, the first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Vladimir dzhabarov warned that the incident could lead to retaliation from the Syrian government air defenses. He also pointed to the need to promptly organize a meeting of diplomats stakeholders.
Later on Sunday evening, June 18, Syria’s defense Ministry reported that American bomber shot down a Syrian su-22, to carry out combat missions against militants of banned terrorist organization “Islamic state” (ISIS) near Raqqa.
At the headquarters of the US-led international coalition confirmed the attack, stressing that “do not seek conflict with the Syrian regime, Russian or supporting the regime forces.”
