Media: Syrian army managed to rescue a pilot shot down a coalition fighter

CAIRO, June 19. /TASS/. The Syrian army found and rescued a pilot whose plane was shot down Sunday by coalition forces near the city of raqqa. This was reported Monday by the TV channel Al Mayadeen, citing its sources. Any details not yet given.

On 18 June the American fighter F-18A from the international coalition of rockets “air-air” was shot down by the fighter-bomber su-22, the Syrian air force, carrying out combat missions in support of divisions of government troops, leading the offensive against the terrorist organization “Islamic state” (banned in Russia), near the village of er-Rasafe. In an attack by Syrian aircraft were destroyed. The pilot ejected over the area controlled by the terrorists, and still his fate remained unknown.
