The US President accused the Cuban government in arms shipments to Pyongyang and contributing to the destabilization of the situation in Venezuela.

“The Castro regime was supplying weapons to North Korea and has contributed to the chaos in Venezuela,” said the American leader.

The U.S. broke off diplomatic relations with Cuba in 1961, after the nationalization of the authorities in Havana American property on the island. At the same time, Washington has announced in relation to the introduction of Cuba trade embargo.

In December 2014 the 44th President Barack Obama acknowledged that the previous policy of Washington against Havana is not working and announced the beginning of the movement towards normalization of bilateral relations and the easing of sanctions against Cuba. In March last year, the President of the United States for the first time in nearly 90 years made a visit to Cuba.
