The challenges faced in the rise to power of former US President Ronald Reagan, is not comparable with the difficulties which Russia experienced during late 1999 and 2000, said Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with Director Oliver stone in the film Showtime.
In response to a request to compare the challenges Putin has faced as President, with those that had to be overcome in the early 80-ies the American leader Reagan, the Russian President noted that “we need two tasks to solve – to find the right people and delegate to them powers”.
“I understand it and try to make it so. Only we have a big difference – after all, Reagan was the head of the United States, and as if there was not, no matter what there was no problems, still they are not comparable with the difficulties and problems that Russia experienced in the late 1999 — 2000”, — said Putin.
“To be on the verge of bankruptcy to be bankrupt – it’s still different things,” he said.
The words that Reagan preferred to spend the evening with his wife, Putin replied: “a Happy person and very organized, and it definitely was his big advantage.”
