MOSCOW, 14 Jul — RIA Novosti. Law enforcement identified the shooter who wounded Congresswoman and several others in a suburb of Washington, writes the Washington Post.

According to the publication, the shooting staged a 66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson, living in the city of Belleville in Illinois.

It is reported that Hodgkinson owned the business for inspections of residential buildings, the license for which expired in November of 2016 and was not renewed. In April 2006, the suspect was accused of beating, but then the charges were dropped.

The shooting occurred at Alexandria (Virginia), where a group of congressmen and their assistants played baseball. All were wounded at least five people, the coordinator of a faction of the Republicans in the house of representatives Steve Scales was seriously wounded in the thigh.

The alleged shooter was arrested. Eyewitnesses reported that he was wounded by the police. Senator Mike Lee, also became an eyewitness to the incident told television channel Fox News that the attacker was killed.
