Moscow. June 14. INTERFAX.RU — the Committee of the state Duma on state building will support increased penalties for violation of traffic rules (SDA) in relation to health professionals: drivers who do not miss an ambulance, will be deprived of driving license for a period from six months to two years or imprisonment for up to four years, wrote in a Wednesday newspaper “Izvestia”.

“Apply this measure (suspension of driving privileges — if) maybe in cases when delay doctors to the patient has not led to negative consequences. If they came (e.g. patient died), the driver will face criminal liability: a penalty of imprisonment for a period of four years will appear in the new article of the Criminal code (CC) of the Russian Federation “Obstruction of medical assistance”. (…) The bill provides for amendments to the Code about administrative offences (KoAP) and the criminal code and the Criminal procedure code (CPC) of the Russian Federation”, — says the publication.

The publication reports that “the bill of the Vice-speaker of the state Duma Irina Yarovaya (“United Russia”) and the group of deputies Committee on the state building of the state Duma tomorrow is going to adopt in the first reading. The document has already supported the government and the Supreme court.”

The article notes that, according to experts, “in a situation with nepropusk special transport is important, not the size of the penalty but the certainty of punishment. In addition, it is unclear how to act in situations when the driver may not give way to “fast” for objective reasons”.
