Panama established diplomatic relations with the PRC and broke them with Taiwan
Moscow. On 13 June. INTERFAX.RU — foreign Minister of Panama and China signed a communiqué on establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries, at the same time, Panama unilaterally severed diplomatic relations with Taipei, reported on Tuesday the Western media.
“In light of the interests and desires of both peoples Panama and China decided to establish diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level from the moment of signing this document”, — reads the statement of the foreign Ministry of China, which lead the media.
At the same time, Panama broke off diplomatic relations with Taipei, saying that now “recognizes the existence of only China in the world” and Taiwan is part of it.
As marks “bi-Bi-si”, currently, only 20 countries had diplomatic relations with Taiwan. In response to information about the rupture of diplomatic relations official Taipei expressed “regret and anger”, calling it Panama is extremely unfriendly.
