Day of mourning for those killed in a major accident with pilgrims will be announced June 13 in Zabaykalsky Krai. This was announced by the Governor of the region Natalia Zhdanova, reports TASS.

“We have to declare tomorrow a day of mourning, to cancel all entertainment events,” she said. According to the Vice-Premier of the regional government Dmitry Kochergin, the corresponding order will be prepared today.

Bus KIA Granbird overturned for a night on 12 February in Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky district, near the village Hohoto. 10 people died on the spot, two died later.

The police opened a criminal case on violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles. Earlier, the interior Ministry of Russia sent from Moscow a group of traffic police officers to clarify the circumstances of the accident.

The vehicle was carrying pilgrims to Chita from the village Urluk after the procession. Chita diocese promised to assist the families of those killed and injured.
