A court in Kiev banned to rename the Avenue Vatutina in honor Shukhevych

The district administrative court prohibited the city Council of Kiev to sign and publish the decision on renaming of the Avenue Vatutina Avenue Shukhevych.

This was announced by the head of the Institute of legal policy and social protection Elena Berezhnaya in his Facebook.

“The judge of the District administrative court issued a ruling prohibiting the defendant — city Council — to sign and publish the decision of 1 June about the renaming of the Avenue of the legendary General Vatutin Shukhevych before the case in court in fact” — she wrote.

As the channel “112 Ukraine”, the Kyiv authorities renamed the Avenue June 1, 2017. After that, the website of the city Council of Kiev there was a petition about cancellation of the rename.

It is noted that the decision on the award of the Avenue named after Shukhevych has caused indignation of the Jewish community.
