The IranAir aircraft performed five flights, transporting 450 tonnes of food to the capital of Qatar, Doha. As reported by Al-Araby al-Jadeed, said the representative of Iranian airline Sarah Noushabadi.

According to him, the flights will continue in the future. The bulk of cargo transported by air are perishable products like fruits and vegetables.

Also the edition with reference to the Agency Tasnim reported that Iranian cargo ships have taken to Qatar, another 350 tons of food.

The crisis over Qatar began on 5 June, when Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain and the UAE announced the rupture of diplomatic relations with this country. They accused Doha of destabilization of the situation in the middle East and supporting terrorist organizations, including Islamic state and al-Qaida. Later the decision was joined by Yemen, Libya, Maldives, Mauritius, Mauritania and the Union of the Comoros.

Simultaneously, Saudi Arabia has blocked ground connections to Qatar. This has created a tense situation, as more than half of food consumed in Qatar received by land transport from Saudi Arabia.
