The official representative of the defense Ministry major-General Igor Konashenkov denied reports of foreign media about the alleged inflicted on the evening of 17 August 2016 air strike on al-Katerji Aleppo, Syria. He stressed that this area is adjacent to two corridors for the civilians that were created within the framework of humanitarian operations. According to him, has been repeatedly emphasized that existing in the Syrian Arab Republic FSI Russian planes never work on targets placed within the boundaries of settlements.

“I would like to say, as soon as Amanpour began this story — I mean, in this public space, arrived in Moscow, took the trouble to print on a color printer this photo, to show it to Sergey Lavrov — maybe she will have enough courage, journalism, professional ethics and human conscience and terminate her? Namely, to go to Aleppo, to go to Syria, find the family of the boy and make a truly honest, not a fake, as they are able to do at CNN, and an honest interview with him,” — said the official representative of the Russian foreign Ministry at the briefing.

“Christiane Amanpour, we are waiting for you in Aleppo,” — said Zakharov.
