Vice-President Mike Pence, speaking at the Atlantic Council, said that the world’s main threats are Russia, Iran and terrorism. A live webcast of the event was broadcast on the YouTube channel.

“Against Russia’s attempts to redraw international borders by force to Iran’s efforts to destabilize the middle East, to global threats of terrorism, which can strike at any time, any place – I think the world is more dangerous today than ever after the fall of communism a quarter century ago,” said Pence.

However, he added that Washington is ready to fulfil its allied obligations within NATO and to “adhere to the principle that an attack on one (member of NATO) is an attack on all of us.”
