Summer landscape by Isaak Levitan sold at auction in London for $1.1 million

LONDON, June 6. /Offset. TASS Ilya Dmitriev/. Painting by Isaac Levitan (1860-1900) “Summer” was sold at auction in London for 908 thousand pounds ($1.1 million).

The painting was sold by auction house Sotheby’s in the framework of the “Russian week”, held in the British capital.

Another remarkable item that has been sold, was “the Portrait of Yuri Repin on the waterfront of Naples” painted by Ilya Repin (1844-1930). Painting created by a master in Italy in 1894 and depicting the artist’s son, was sold for 765 thousand pounds ($990 million).

Established in 1914, the painting by Konstantin Yuon (1875-1985) “Night Kremlin on the eve of the coronation of Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich” found a new owner for 729 thousand pounds ($940 thousand).

Currently, auctions of paintings continues, and in the second half of the day will be implemented and the objects of decorative-applied art and icons.

In addition to Sotheby’s “Russian week” of trading are taking part of the auction house Christie’s, MacDougall’s and Bonhams.
