The Committee of Moscow regional Duma for education, culture and tourism will consider on June 8 a bill to establish in the region a range of holiday dates. On Tuesday, June 6, reports TASS with reference to the press service of the Moscow region Duma.
The authors of the initiative, in particular, propose to celebrate on 21 September, the Day of harvest of the suburbs, the Day of the national people’s toys — 24 Aug. In addition, legislators intend to establish a Day of Forests, to consolidate the tradition of mass tree planting. Memorial day is invited to make the 2nd or 3rd Saturday of the first month of autumn. The deputies also considered appropriate to establish on 29 June, the Day the first Russian ship, as on this day in 1667 was founded the first Russian state shipyard in Dedinovo village of the Kolomna district.
The press service noted that the new regional holidays will not be holidays.
A complete list of holidays the Moscow region and the final version of the Committee on education, culture and tourism will submit to the Mosobldumy on June 15, said the Agency.
January 16, Samara region Governor Nikolai Merkushkin signed a law establishing in the region a new holiday — father’s Day. New holiday local residents will celebrate the first Saturday of November.
