Government Commission on legislative activities endorsed the proposal of the Ministry of interior to increase the state duty for registration of passports and driving licences, according to “Vedomosti”.
The state duty for the biometric passport for adults is proposed to increase from 3.5 to five thousand rubles, and for children up to 14 years — from 1.5 to 2.5 thousand rubles. Registration driver’s license new generation will cost three thousand rubles instead of two thousand. Plastic certificate of registration of the car will cost three times more expensive than paper — 1.5 thousand rubles to 500 rubles.
At the same time, the cost of documents of the old sample will remain at the same level. If the initiative is supported by the government, the bill will introduce to the state Duma.
The first Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on budget and taxes Alexander Remezkov has explained RIA Novosti the possible increase in duties increase the cost of services. “Since the passport will contain a broader set of biometric data, the question arises in storing these data, appropriate software, and other”, — he said.
In 2016 the Federal budget from state fees received 94,2 billion. It is noted that the increase in fees would increase revenues by 44 billion rubles.
