Volodin said the Duma will study the international experience in this matter and, on this basis, as well as the Russian tradition, will propose to the President for approval the text of the oath or oath of allegiance to the country, “to a citizen who receives a citizenship, becoming a citizen of the Russian Federation, understood the responsibility of that decision.”

“There is a purely formal thing, when the man at reception in citizenship of the Russian Federation informs about itself false information at all, — said the head of state. Is a formal, purely legal thing, but it a serious, thorough, and it is, of course, also need to pay attention.

The President also asked the state Duma to consult with the Constitutional court of the Russian Federation about possibility of cancellation of the decision on granting citizenship to those who have been convicted of terrorism. “We need to consult with the Constitutional court (before the adoption of the corresponding law), — said the head of state. But I generally agree with this position. We have already talked about this, so this initiative is a surprise to me is not”.

Volodin has reminded that the authors of the initiative were the leaders of all factions of the state Duma. “It would be possible to amend the law on citizenship, which include the rule on cancellation of the decision on granting citizenship, this decision”, — he explained. The speaker recalled that when the person applying for citizenship of the Russian Federation, executes the statement, it is the count: “if you take me to the citizenship of the Russian Federation are obliged to be loyal to Russia, and fulfill their civic duty in accordance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation and the legislation of the Russian Federation”.

“If a person has violated these obligations and had been convicted of terrorism, it would be correct to cancel the decision to grant him citizenship,” — said Volodin.
