Putin invited the new citizens to take the oath

President Vladimir Putin has suggested to oblige those who enter into the Russian citizenship, take an oath or an oath. With this initiative, he spoke during a meeting with state Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin on Tuesday, June 6, reports TASS.

“You would think to take the experience of some foreign countries, when is the oath, the oath, the other the solemn act by which man confirms his intention to become a citizen of our country, to abide by its laws, traditions, respect those traditions,” — said the head of state.

Putin asked the Chairman of the lower house of the Parliament and its deputies to consider how this provision can be prescribed in the legislation.

May 19 the state Duma adopted in the first reading a package of bills allowing you to cancel the decision on granting citizenship of the Russian Federation for terrorist activities. A month earlier about the possibility of introducing such amendments announced by the head of state.

In December last year, Putin urged to reduce red tape in the procedure of obtaining Russian citizenship. He said that relief measures may be introduced, in particular, to figures of culture and art.
