On the site of Brest opened anti-terrorist exercises “Slavic brotherhood”

The site of BREST /Belarus/, June 6. /TASS/. The opening of the joint anti-terrorist exercises “Slavic brotherhood – 2017” was held today in the Belarusian site of Brest. Members of the Armed forces of Russia, Belarus and Serbia congratulated the head maneuvers, the commander of the special operations Forces of Belarus major-General Vadim Denisenko.

Deputy head of doctrines from the Russian side, Colonel Alexei Sgibnev noted that “for the first time in the history of the joint exercises “Slavic brotherhood” Armed forces of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Serbia on the current doctrines of national military contingents of the participating countries formed a multinational battalion-size tactical group, which will practice performing counter-terrorism tasks in the framework of peacekeeping operations”.

Sgibnev stressed that the upcoming practical actions of the Russian, Belarusian and Serbian military as part of a single unit show “on closer interaction between the Armed forces of the three countries in their preparations for the joint fight with the chief evil of modern times – international terrorism.”

Sgibnev announced the formation of a multinational battalion-size tactical group on 5 June. He said that the unit consists of four company tactical groups that include platoons of Russian, Belarusian and Serbian military. “The commander of the first company was the Russian officer, the second company – Serbian, third and fourth mouth – the Belarusian officers,” he said.

In the exercise “Slavic brotherhood – 2017” attended by more than 300 soldiers of the Pskov airborne assault division of Russian airborne troops, over 400 military 38-th separate air assault brigade of special operations Forces of Belarus and 50 military special brigades of Serbia. Involved military transport aircraft Il-76MD VKS RF, airplanes and helicopters of the air force of Belarus. The active phase of the maneuvers will last until June 14.
