Ivanov called Russia’s performance indicators waste management shame

In Russia utilized only seven percent of municipal solid waste, said the special representative of the President of Russia on environmental issues, ecology and transport Minister Sergei Ivanov. His words leads to “Interfax”.

Ivanov cited the experience of Germany, where 50 percent of solid waste is either incinerated or buried, and 50 percent reutilizing. Against this background, Russian indices he called “shameful.”

Separately, the special representative noted that now in Russia the volume of utilization of inferior Soviet. Then, he said, was processed to 50 percent of solid waste.

On may 26 Sergei Ivanov reported that Russia detected a few tens of thousands of illegal dumps that need to be addressed. “We need to clean up in Russia,” he said.
