The ECHR is widely perceived as a European political court the unfair law, as it has many times been used as a tool of pressure on the country, told reporters on Tuesday the Deputy speaker of the state Duma Irina Yarovaya.

Earlier Tuesday, the European court of human rights (ECHR) found violation of the article on the “right to free elections” of the European Convention on human rights in the case of a group of Russians are challenging the results of elections in several areas in regional and Federal elections in 2011, and agreed to pay the four claimants for 7.5 thousand euros.

“Appeal procedures in the electoral process in Russia have the highest level of availability and transparency, as well as effective forms of social control. For example, the OSCE in Russia freely and everywhere has access to elections unlike the United States. Unfortunately, the decision of the ECHR many times used as a tool of pressure on the countries and unfair interference in the domestic policy of the States… it is a Pity that the ECHR is widely perceived as a European political court the unfair law,” said the MP.

The Deputy noted that the right to free elections is the freedom of individual choice and respect the choice of the majority of citizens, which may not coincide with someone’s particular opinion. “And not trying to interpret the ECHR, relying on article on the right to free elections of the European Convention on human rights”, — concluded Spring.
