The accusations of Kiev in the address of “Yandex” and the sanctions against the Russian-speaking Internet resources, in General, intended to keep the population of Ukraine the feeling of a certain military confrontation, without which the current leadership of the country will not be able to retain power. This opinion was expressed by Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Andrei Klimov told “Tape.ru”.
“To Kiev to do some fighting now in the Donbass, especially not to give, and a life without war, without military terms is the political death of the current regime. So they come up with other wars,” said the Senator.
He noted that such decision of the Kiev alienated even those Ukrainians who previously stayed away from politics. “Many Ukrainian citizens got the story, because they were used to the Russian-speaking Internet, to specific social networks, and, of course, they did not like”, — concluded the MP.
29 may the security Service of Ukraine (SBU) raided the Kiev and Odessa offices of the company “Yandex Ukraine”. After completion of the investigative activities, the Department stated that the employees of the company illegally transferred to Russia personal data of Ukrainian users.
Vice-speaker of the state Duma Irina Spring, commenting on the situation, called SBU repressive machine of the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, is ready to “move the rights and freedoms of its citizens inside out”.
May 17, Poroshenko signed a decree on a new package of sanctions against Russia. In particular, Kyiv has blocked the country job portals “Yandex” and Mail.Ru Group.
