Putin reported about the first flight of MS-21

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin told President Vladimir Putin about the first flight of the latest short and medium-haul narrow-body passenger aircraft MS-21, which is constructed at the Irkutsk aviation plant, reports TASS. The President congratulated the staff of the manufacturer, as well as all workers in the sector with this event.

“Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin on the phone told Putin about the fact that our medium-range aircraft stood on the wing, having made the first test flight,” – said the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.

MS-21 is the first short and medium-haul aircraft, which will be produced in Russia. This is the second in the modern history of Russian civilian aircraft. To this country from scratch produced while only regional Sukhoi Super Jet-100 (first flight carried out in 2008, has been in operation since 2011). MC-21 increased flight range and greater Seating capacity.

At the moment the portfolio of orders for MS-21 aircraft is 285. The first customer for 50 aircraft was “Aeroflot”.
