Permanent representative of Russia to the UN Vitaly Churkin, who died February 20, awarded with medal “Glory of Ossetia” – the highest award of the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania. The handover ceremony of the order took place the meeting of Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Gennady Gatilov with Plenipotentiary of the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania under the Russian President Boris by Panaevym. “This highest award of the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania Churkin was awarded for services to the people of Ossetia and professionalism during his tenure the Russian representative to the UN. Vitaly Churkin was born on 21 February 1952 in Moscow in the family of aviation engineer. 8 APR 2006 held the position of permanent representative to the UN in new York, was the representative of Russia in the UN Security Council.
