From the Universe disappeared star N6946-BH1

MOSCOW, may 28 — RIA Novosti. Star N6946-BH1, for which the American astronomers observed for several years, suddenly disappeared, according to NASA.

The researchers, according to the information received, do not know the exact reasons why the heavenly body disappeared from sight. The most likely hypothesis to explain the incident, is gravitational collapse — the transformation N6946-BH1 black hole. Scientists did not foresee such a scenario, they were confident that the star will explode as a supernova.

N6946-BH1 was located at a distance of 22 million light years from Earth in spiral galaxy NGC 6946. Shining was 25 times heavier than the Sun.

Many massive stars, it seems, may quietly collapse into black holes — no supernova required. Get the details: https://t.co/R7csKbkHGI pic.twitter.com/QVE6XfGzsk
