With “Plesetsk” was launched booster “Soyuz-2.1 b” with the latest military satellite
Moscow. May 25. INTERFAX.RU the carrier Rocket “Soyuz-2.1 b” spacecraft of the new generation was successfully launched from the cosmodrome “Plesetsk” in the Arkhangelsk region at 9:34 Moscow time, have informed on Thursday in the Ministry of defence.
“All pre-launch operations and launch of “Soyuz-2.1 b” have passed in a regular mode. Ground-based automated control monitored the launch”, — stressed in the defense Ministry.
The General management of the start-up was carried out by commander of the Space forces Deputy commander in chief of the HQs of the Russian Federation Lieutenant-General Alexander Golovko, who arrived on the cosmodrome.
This is the first launch of the carrier rocket “Soyuz-2”, held this year from the cosmodrome “Plesetsk”. Previous launch of the carrier rocket of this type from the Northern cosmodrome was held on 29 may 2016.
Flight tests of the rockets family “Soyuz-2” began at the cosmodrome “Plesetsk” November 8, 2004. Over the past 13 years the territory of the Arkhangelsk region was conducted 29 launches of carrier rockets “Soyuz-2” types 1A, 1B and 1 V of the Rocket “Soyuz-2” has come to replace the rocket “Soyuz-U”, which was operated at the “Plesetsk” from 1973 to 2012.
