Equipment “Ratnik” has passed tests in Syria

MOSCOW, may 24. /TASS/. Combat military equipment “Ratnik” has been tested in the course of operation of the Russian Federation in Syria. About it said Deputy Russian defense Minister Yuri Borisov.

“During combat operations been tested with the latest communications, intelligence, electronic warfare (electronic warfare – approx. TASS), as well as military equipment “Ratnik”, including modern types of small arms. The solution of problems in Syria is actively used and grouping of the Russian space vehicles”, – he told in interview to the newspaper “Red star”.

“It should be noted that during the RAID are used not only serially produced, but also promising, are still under development and testing,” – said the Deputy Minister.

He also said that the test in the context of fighting in Syria were the su-35S and su-30SM fighter-bombers su-34, frontline bombers su-24M, su-25SM attack aircraft, long-range aviation aircraft Tu-160, Tu-22M3 and Tu-95MS bombers, Ka-52, Mi-24, Mi-35 and Mi-28. Borisov added that in the course of military operation aircraft used a wide range of aircraft weapons including guided air bombs with different guidance systems, as well as cruise missiles, air-launched with a launch range up to 4,500 kilometers.

Fighting equipment of the second generation of the “Warrior” comes to the army, the airborne troops and marine corps units in 2016. It includes the means of body armor and combat equipment, small arms, means of targeting and intelligence.

The Syrian experience

Borisov added that the Experience of the use of Russian weapons and equipment, received the Russian soldiers in Syria were taken into account in the development of the state armament programme.

“However, we are now in the final stages of formation of the project GPV-2025. Of course, in its preparation by the military authorities to take full account of the results of the combat employment of all types of weapons and equipment. On the basis of this experience made necessary refinements to the arrangements for the new development work on the creation of weapons, as well as for the modernization of existing items of military equipment (armaments, military and special equipment – approx. TASS),” – said the Deputy Minister, responding to a question about changes in GLS in connection with the experience of the use of weapons in a combat situation.

The operation of the Russian HQs in Syria against the militants began on 30 September 2015 at the request of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. March 14, 2016, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the withdrawal of the main forces of the Russian Federation from Syria, since the main task of the defense Ministry, according to the head of state were fulfilled.
