Sharapova has climbed 38 places in WTA rankings

Russian Maria Sharapova rose from 211 to 173-e a place in a rating of Female tennis Association (WTA). Updated list of best players in the world published on the official website of the organization.

In the title race WTA, the results of which are determined by the eight participants in the final tournament of the year, Sharapova climbed to 129 positions and is now in 82nd place.

By getting into the top 200 of the WTA rankings, Sharapova will be able to play in qualifying of Wimbledon. On 19 may, the Russian has stated that it will not ask for a special invitation (wild card) in the main draw of the tournament.

The athlete returned to a rating of three weeks ago, having resumed the performance after a 15-month suspension for use of a prohibited drug Meldonium. She managed to play in three tournaments. In Stuttgart, Sharapova reached the semifinals in Madrid and Rome — before the second round.
