Twitter co-founder regrets, if microblog helped Trump the election

MOSCOW, may 21 — RIA Novosti. Co-founder of popular microblogging service Twitter Evan Williams regrets that his social network probably helped Donald Trump to become President of the United States, as the us leader himself said earlier.

“That’s too bad — the role that Twitter played in it. If it is true that he would not be President if not Twitter, then Yes, I’m sorry”, he said in an interview with the New York Times.

According to Williams, the Internet “spoiled”, and more and more people are aware of this.

“I thought when all will be able to speak freely, to exchange information and ideas, the world will automatically become better. I was wrong about that,” he explained.

Social network Twitter was founded in 2006 by Evan Williams, Jack Dorsey and BIZ stone. Two years later Williams became President of the company. In 2010, he left the head of Twitter, his post was replaced by dick Costolo.
