Media: in Indonesia, the ferry caught fire with 178 passengers, three people were killed
MOSCOW, may 20 — RIA Novosti. At least three people were killed in a fire on a ferry in Indonesia, the fate of the 84 passengers remains unknown, said on Saturday edition of the Maritime Executive.
According to the newspaper, all on Board were 178 passengers. Search and rescue service of Indonesia reported on the rescue of 91 people. The fate of the remaining 84 passengers is currently unknown.
Mutiara followed the ferry from Java island to the island of Borneo, when the deck started the fire. Crew members tried to extinguish the flames, but they failed. Then the captain of the ship ordered the crew and passengers to leave the ferry wearing life jackets.
At the moment, the search continues for the missing.
