Prosecutor asks to arrest the former head of RUSNANO Melamed at the time of his trial
MOSCOW, may 19. /TASS/. The Prosecutor asked Cheremushkinskaya court of Moscow detained for six months ex-the head of “RUSNANO” Leonid Melamed and former CFO Svyatoslav Ponurov accused of embezzling 220 million rubles, reports TASS.
The court held a preliminary hearing in which prosecutors said that the participation of the accused in the process is possible only with the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention.
Melamed was previously placed under house arrest, and Bowed in custody, but both were released in connection with the expiration of the maximum term.
A preliminary hearing was held behind closed doors. As told TASS one of the participants in the process, protecting defendants asked to dismiss the case due to procedural violations during the investigation. The aggrieved party in the face of the company “Rosnano” have asked to return the case to the Prosecutor in the absence of damage. Prosecutors, in turn, objected to these motions and requested to appoint consideration of the case on the merits.
In July 2015, SC opened a criminal case on embezzlement of 220 million roubles to the state Corporation “Rosnano” in relation to former executives of the company: Leonid Melamed, his Deputy Andrei Malyshev and chief financial officer Svyatoslav Ponurov. Melamed was placed under house arrest, Ponurov arrested, and Malyshev, who long time is on treatment abroad, was arrested in absentia and declared in the international search. Melamed and Bowed was released from custody on may 10 in connection with the expiration of the time limit of their measures.
According to investigators, in 2008-2009 Melamed, being a co-owner of the investment financial Corporation “Alemar” (ZAO “IFK “Alemar”), organized conclusion Corporation with the company the contract for providing Advisory services, under the guise that converted to a Corporation former employees of “Alamara” Malyshev and Bowed within six months, illegally transferred more than 220 million rubles. According to the investigation, thereby, dismissing from the Corporation, Melamed provided a so-called Golden parachute.
According to lawyers, the defense intends to prove in court the innocence of the accused. Also unchanged remains the position of the company “RUSNANO”, where innocent Melamed and Ponurova and no damage to the company due to their actions.
