Moscow. May 16. INTERFAX.RU — the cause of the explosion in a residential building in the Soviet district of Volgograd was a leak of household gas, occurred as a result of unauthorized work performed by the entrepreneur, told reporters the Governor of the Volgograd region Andrei Bocharov.
“According to preliminary data, the explosion occurred as a result of attempts of the entrepreneur to carry out unauthorized tapping into the pipeline,” — said the head of the region.
He noted that in the house there are 45 apartments, which was 97 people, including six children.
“According to preliminary reports, the explosion injured eight people, three of them are in serious condition. All victims are delivered in medical institutions, they receive necessary medical assistance,” — said Bocharov.
He also stressed that at the moment, confirmed information about the two victims.
Meanwhile, the correspondent of “Interfax” reported earlier from the event that from the rubble retrieved the body of a third victim.
Bocharov said that in the basement, partially destroyed in the explosion of a residential building, was a shop, which is impossible. Can there be more dead or injured, the Governor could not answer. He stressed that currently, temporary detention the residents of the building at the nearest school and the hotel.
