The authorities of Ukraine suspected in the desire to ban the Sun

The Chairman of the Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots Leonid Kalashnikov compare ban St. George ribbon in Ukraine with the actions of the Nazis. It is reported by TASS on Tuesday, may 16.

“I can give you only such a comparison that tomorrow they will try to ban the Sun,” — said the Deputy. He also recalled that the Ukrainian authorities have banned Communist symbols.

Earlier on Tuesday it became known that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has banned the use of St. George ribbons in the country. For wearing or display this symbol is threatened with the penalty, and in the case of repeated violation — arrest for up to 15 days.

The official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova called the decision undemocratic. According to her, Kiev’s actions call into question “the fundamental possibility of any enterprises of Ukraine”.

Speaker of the Parliament Andrei Parubiy explained that the bill was developed due to clashes in many cities of Ukraine between radicals and demonstrators gathered to celebrate the Victory.

From 2015 the law of Ukraine “About the condemnation of the Communist and national socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes in Ukraine and the prohibition of propaganda of their symbols”.
