The government approved the joint use of the CIS nuclear facility in Kazakhstan

Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree according to which it approved the draft agreement of CIS countries on the joint use of the experimental complex on the basis of the Kazakh research Tokomak (one of the models of fusion reactor. — RT). Relevant document published on the government website.

“The Directive approves the draft agreement on the joint use of the experimental complex on the basis of the Kazakh research Tokomak”, — stated in the explanatory Memorandum.

It is noted that the Kazakhstan material tokamak is a unique experimental complex, which enables a wide range of studies for modernization of existing production reactors, and for the creation of innovative energy reactor facilities.

“The agreement will create a legal basis for sharing scientists of the CIS countries the experimental complex on the territory of Kazakhstan”, — said in the Cabinet.

The agreement identified areas of cooperation, provided for the appointment of competent authorities and the establishment of an Advisory scientific and technical Council.
