Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree approving the strategy of economic security of the country in the period up to 2030. The document published on the official portal of legal information on Monday, may 15.

The strategy aims to prevent crises in the resource, industrial, scientific, technological and financial spheres, as well as to prevent a reduction in the quality of life of citizens. It also envisages improvement of the mechanism of response to external sanctions.

The government was instructed within three months to develop the regulatory and methodological measures required for the implementation of the strategy, and to ensure their implementation, the report said.

The Russian security Council at the meeting approved the draft strategy on 7 December last year. It was noted that the document was developed in response to new challenges and threats to national interests of the country.

Commenting on the document, the Chairman of the Duma Committee on financial market Anatoly Aksakov reported that a key threat to the economic security of Russia is the inefficient implementation of the program of import substitution, support of non-oil exports and high technologies.
