Russian President Vladimir Putin and South Korean President moon Jae-In discussed by telephone a number of issues, including the situation around the DPRK. This was reported by the press service of the Kremlin.

“When exchanging opinions on the situation on the Korean Peninsula underlined the importance of finding ways of politico-diplomatic settlement of the crisis”, – stated in the message.

As noted in the Kremlin, in the course of the conversation the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral and international agenda. “Expressed, in particular, the mutual interest in further development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the political, economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres,” – said the press service.

“Vladimir Putin and moon Jae In agreed to continue contacts”, – said in the Kremlin.

During the conversation, Putin once again congratulated moon Jae-In election as President and wished him every success.

Moon Jae In won the last 9 may in the Republic of Korea presidential election with 41.1% of the vote. Given the extraordinary nature of the plebiscite (an election was held after the impeachment of the former President), mun Jae In immediately got all the powers without any transitional period.
