The Ministry of defence of the Russian Federation confirmed that the Russian fighter su-30 may 9, intercepted an American reconnaissance aircraft P-8 Poseidon over the Black sea. About it reports TASS.
The defense Ministry said that the incident occurred on Victory Day at about 12:00 Moscow time. An American plane was spotted over neutral waters of the Black sea, after which the composition of active-duty air defense forces raised the su-30.
“Russian jet carried out a maneuver “greetings” American pilots, after which American reconnaissance plane changed the flight path in the direction from the border with Russia. The su-30 fighter returned safely to their home airfield”, – told in the defense Ministry.
Informed the American TV channel NBC reported that a Russian su-27 flew within six meters from the P-8A over the Black sea. The representative of the United States Navy in Europe Pamela, Kunti told NBC that the American plane carried out a “regular job”. According to her, actions of both aircraft were professional and safe.
In April off the coast of Alaska to accompany the Tu-95 was raised by the American F-22 fighter. Planes of the U.S. air force escorted Russian Tu-95 over 27 minutes.
