Putin spoke about the importance of relations with Palestine

Relations with Palestine have for Moscow a special significance, said the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. His words leads RIA Novosti on Thursday, may 11.

“For many years we are working together on one of the key problems of the modern world over the settlement of the middle East problems,” the Russian leader said at a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Sochi.

Putin expressed hope that the visit of the Palestinian leader, in Russia will be productive. “I want to thank you, Mr. President, for the attention you have given Russian-Palestinian relations, for the support of our compatriots who are living in Palestine and who come as pilgrims to the Holy places”, — he added.

Earlier on Thursday the press-Secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that Mahmoud Abbas arrived in Sochi for talks with Putin, reports TASS. The leaders will talk in the narrow part, further talks will be held in the format of the two delegations, said the official representative of the Kremlin.

May 10, Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed during a telephone conversation Syrian settlement. The conversation was held on Israel’s initiative.
