“The catcher pokémon” Sokolov was sentenced to probation

YEKATERINBURG, may 11 — RIA Novosti. Verkh-Isetskiy district court of Yekaterinburg found the blogger Ruslan Sokolovsky guilty of inciting hatred, insulting the feelings of believers and was sentenced to 3.5 years of probation.

On sentencing the judge said that “in all the nine videos presented marked signs of incitement of national or religious hatred: religion is the believers, the clergy, Muslim, national, social — clergy, feminists”.

In August last year, Sokolowski posted on YouTube a video where he plays the app Pokemon GO during the service in the Temple-on-Blood. The video was accompanied by obscene language, stylized hymns, and in the end the blogger ridiculed the foundations of Christianity.

According to the court, the blogger insulted the religious feelings of not only Christians but Muslims. In addition, according to the judge, his actions were aimed at inciting hatred of the Russian Orthodox Church and personally to Patriarch Kirill.

The blogger was also found guilty of illegal acquisition of special technical means: during a search of his home found a pen with a video camera (a license to buy it gives FSB).

The blogger himself in the final statement said that the allegations shocked him. During interrogation he refused to plead guilty.
