Putin discussed with Abbas the Palestinian-Israeli confrontation and opened in Bethlehem IFC

SOCHI, may 11. /TASS/. From the opening ceremony in Bethlehem, the Multifunctional cultural-sporting complex (IFC), constructed with assistance from Russia, began the meeting of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin with President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas. But the focus of the two leaders was paid to the issues of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and find a solution to this decades-old middle East conflict, which has almost 70 years since the establishment of Israel in 1948.

Opening IFC in Bethlehem

Multifunctional cultural and sports complex was built in accordance with the instructions of the Russian President for subsequent transfer as a gift to the people of Palestine. The IFC consists of three buildings: a five-story musical-the leisure center with classes for music lessons, an Assembly hall and recording Studio, four sports halls for judo and Greco-Roman wrestling, as well as a six-storey business centre with offices, a concert hall, restaurant and retail space and underground Parking.

The project was implemented by the Management of the Affairs of the Kremlin at the expense of extrabudgetary funds. About 50 million dollars for these purposes was allocated to non-profit organization “Charitable Fund named after Ziya Bagaeva”. Construction was completed in may 2016, in July, the IFC was transferred to the State of Palestine.
