Relations with Turkey, Russia is now moving better than Germany, said the foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov, commenting on the results of the meetings of Russian President Vladimir Putin with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The meeting between Putin and Merkel took place in Sochi on may 2 and talks with Erdogan — may 3. According to Lavrov, “it was constructive and very useful”.
“The results, of course, was slightly different, given that two different countries, two different partner, and relations with Turkey, we are now moving much more positive pace than the relations with Germany,” — said the Russian Minister in interview of broadcasting company “Mir”.
However, according to him, the with Germany Russia the trade turnover remains one of the most significant. “A very great interest among the business communities of both countries continue to work together, the German companies from Russia do not go away, and this confirms our assessment that the current situation is abnormal, when a policy, I would say, politicized, ideologized approaches, some of our European and Western partners are trying to put above the indigenous economic interests of their countries, their citizens,” — said Lavrov.
As for Turkey, he said, “we have major projects, the presidents looked like the process and what you need to do.”
