In Washington there is a meeting between Lavrov and Tillerson
The foreign Ministers are expected to discuss the situation in Syria and Ukraine, as well as bilateral relations. After the talks, Lavrov will travel to the White house, where he will take the US President Donald trump.
WASHINGTON, may 10 — RIA Novosti. Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson are meeting in Washington, the correspondent of RIA Novosti.
The foreign Ministers are expected to discuss the situation in Syria and Ukraine, as well as bilateral relations. After talks at the state Department, Lavrov will travel to the White house, where he will take the US President Donald trump.
As stated before the meeting, Tillerson, the parties will continue the dialogue begun in Moscow.
Earlier in the Kremlin said that Lavrov during his visit to the US will raise the issue of cooperation in combating terrorism, as well as the topics that were discussed on the telephone Vladimir Putin and Donald trump.
As noted in the state Department, one of the main topics of negotiations will be four zones of de-escalation in Syria. A Memorandum of their creation was signed last week in Astana the representatives of Russia, Iran and Turkey.
The meeting of Lavrov and Tillerson will be the third in a row.
The previous meeting of foreign Ministers was held within the framework of Kerry’s visit to Moscow in April.
