Media: trump ready to meet Kim Jong-UN if North Korea abandon its nuclear program

This position of Washington was announced for Beijing — the closest ally of Pyongyang, said the Agency Kyodo.

TOKYO, may 9. /Offset. TASS Igor Belyaev/. The President of the United States Donald trump is ready to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-UN, if Pyongyang abandons its nuclear missile program. This was reported by the Agency Kyodo.

Citing informed diplomatic sources, the Agency emphasizes that the position of the new US administration was voiced by China, which is the closest ally of the DPRK.

It is noted that in case of refusal of the further development of nuclear missile programs trump is willing to invite Kim Jong UN to visit the United States for a visit.

Washington informed Beijing about the fact that he did not intend to take military action against Pyongyang and is ready to ensure the safety of the North Korean regime if the nuclear missile programme of the DPRK will be minimized, according to Kyodo.

The new us administration has repeatedly voiced a tough stance against North Korea, stressing that “all options, including military, remain on the table”. The situation on the Korean Peninsula escalated in early last year, when Pyongyang carried out a nuclear test and later launched a ballistic missile artificial satellite of the Earth. In September 2016, the DPRK conducted another nuclear test, and during the year produced more than 20 rocket launches.

In April, the DPRK made a few rocket launches, the last of them was made a few hours after a special meeting of the UN Security Council on the situation on the Korean Peninsula.
